1.5 miles, around campus, 12:30
I guess this isn't even worth mentioning, since it's so shorts, but... between the end of class and needing to be at the MOSH's house, I had about 45 minutes, so I didn't have very much time to run today. I just took a jog around the campus once. It has cooled down a bit, so it was awesome running weather, and I'm sad that I didn't have time to do a longer run :(.
Ain't no Patrician, but...
7.8 miles, Lower Arroyo
Today I ran Lower Arroyo with Stephanie and Clara. Best came with us until the intersection of Mission and Oak Knoll.
I went swimming for about 20 minutes before going running. It was pretty warm, but overall I think the run felt good. I was getting a bit tired towards the end. And that hill going up to California was no good...

Oak Knoll loop, 4.85 miles
Around 3:30, I ran with Stephanie and Clara. I got a stitch when we turned onto Oak Knoll, and it didn't go away. My stomach was aching for the second half of the run, so I stopped at some point, and then I got back pretty slowly. Probably was the aftereffects of the fish I had for early lunch :(.

You Raise Me Up
6 miles, Garfield modified
After the xc meeting this afternoon, around 5:30, I ran with Stephanie and Clara. It took probably an hour or so. It was pretty warm outside, and I think I was probably dehydrated, since my head started doing the "it's hot, so I'm going to throb" thing, but it wasn't too bad. The run went better than expected, and I didn't die like I had expected to. I think my calves are getting a bit sore now (my left one), but other than that, everything is good. I iced my shins after running, and I think I left the ice on for too long, because it was a bit puffy... oops.
Preseason commences on August 26. 3 months to train! Stephanie, Sedona, Perrin, and Best (part of the time) will be around (maybe other girls too, but those were the ones at the meeting). Sweet!
Life otherwise: Guilty of not running for a week... I got busy, and had a pretty whack sleeping schedule towards the end of last week. My chambermusic concert was on Sunday, and I'm still behind in doing ACM sets. But last night, I slept just past midnight, and got enough sleep, it seems. Strange weekend indeed - Brian Go passed away, so lots of people around campus have been pretty down.

Ah, the joys of getting back into shape on a warm day.
4 miles, Lacy the long way.
I was going to go play softball, but after a few pathetic attempts to bat, I did a late afternoon run with Clara and Perrin; I'm guessing it was about 80 degrees outside. My legs were starting to feel dead by the time we hit Euston, but thankfully there were refreshing sprinklers along the way. Oxford is remarkably nice to run down in the afternoon, since the row of trees in the Huntington Gardens serve to provide a nice shady covering. After completing the run, we did some abs on our favorite patch of grass.
I had done a short 3 miles to and from Sierra Madre on Saturday morning, during which I was very tired from lack of sleep. Other than that, my legs felt fine - not sore at all.
Anyways, I'm pumped to get back into running shape, and run this summer in preparation for the upcoming cross-country season (actually, this time). Katherine met with me over lunch last week and came up with a training plan. And then I signed up spontaneously to do a half marathon with Stephanie and Clara in June... "hilly and challenging"... hm... not sure exactly what I'm getting myself into. But it's time to face my hill fear. Sweeeet.
